Question: Why is it said that the world has become smaller?

Answer:  It is often said that the world is getting smaller because of the advances mankind has made in communication. It is very easy to keep in touch with all parts and corners of the world, unlike earlier when communication was difficult.

Question: Explain how two means of communication have changed since the ‘good old days’.

Answer: So many times we have heard about ‘the good old days’ when things were so much simpler, when the only means of communication were telegram, telephone calls and writing letters.

Question: What are the means of verbal communication?

Answer: Verbal communication started with the invention of the telephone by Alexander Graham Bell. With the introduction of mobile phone, communication has became easier. Unlike regular phones which are connected by network cables, cellphones are connected by radio signals and can be used anywhere. all the services and utility of laptops are available with the latest phones and smart phones which can fit in your pocket.

Question: How does Internet help you as a student?

Answer: Internet was started fore researchers. Now it has become a daily necessity for seeking information. They can keep in touch with people, news and latest events. There are various websites which help students which help students, researchers, travellers etc. You can even do your shopping online!

Question: Why is TV so popular?

Answer: Television is the most popular modern mean of communication. When television was first introduced there were fewer channels and programmes, all in black and white. Now we have colour TV, digital TV, etc. It has become a part of our daily life. We can watch soap operas, films, news and sports sitting comfortably at home.
