NCERT 5th Class (CBSE) Mathematics: Polygons And Circles

A. Given two sides and an angle

Draw ΔABC with AB = 6 cm, BC = 4 cm and ∠B = 50°.

1. First draw a rough sketch of the triangle containing all the information given to you. It is preferable to take the longest side as the base.
A. Give two sides and an angle - 1
2. Draw AB = 6 cm with a ruler.
A. Give two sides and an angle - 2
3. Use a protractor to make an angle of a 50° at B.
A. Give two sides and an angle - 3
4. Mark 4 cm from B with the help of a ruler and call it C.
A. Give two sides and an angle - 4
5. Join A to C forming ΔABC.
A. Give two sides and an angle -5

B. Given two angles and a side

Draw ΔXYZ with XY = 7 cm, ∠X = 40°, ∠Y = 40°.

First draw a rough sketch of the triangle containing all the information given to you.
B. Give two sides and an angle - 0
Draw base XY = 7 cm
B. Give two sides and an angle -1
Use a protractor to draw ∠X = 40°
B. Give two sides and an angle -2
Then draw  ∠ = 40°
B. Give two sides and an angle -3
The two lines intersect at Z forming triangle XYZ.
B. Give two sides and an angle -4

C. Given the three side of a triangle

Draw ΔPQR with sides of PQ = 5 cm, PR = 3 cm and RQ = 4 cm

Draw a rough sketch of the triangle containing all the information given to you.
B. Give two sides and an angle -5
Draw base PQ = 5 cm.
B. Give two sides and an angle -6
Set your compass to 4 cm and place it on Q to draw an arc.
B. Give two sides and an angle -7
Reset your compass to 3 cm.
B. Give two sides and an angle -8
Place it on P and draw an arc to cross the first one at R.
B. Give two sides and an angle -9
Join PR and QR to from ΔPQR.
