Delhi is full of wonderful historical buildings. The famous Qutub Minar was built by Qubtu-ud-Din Aibak. It has five storeys, but we are not allowed to climb the stairs. Humayun’s Tomb is a beautiful piece of Mughal architecture. The Red Fort and Old Fort are majestic reminders of our country’s grand past.
Delhi also has some of the best specimens of modern architecture. People from all over the world come to see the beautiful Lotus Temple. It is built in the shape of lotus petals name suggests. The Rashtrapati Bhawan, where the President of our country lives, is also a very grand building. Its famous Mughal Gardens are the pride of Delhi.
Our capital’s importance lies in the governed from here. Our Prime Minister, President and all the important ministers live here. The laws to govern our country are decided at the Parliament House, along with many other issues of national importance. All the major offices of the country are situated here.
However, Delhi is now a very polluted and dirty city. It needs the cooperation of all its citizens to make it clean and beautiful. Then it will truly become the pride of our country.
