English Essay on visit to a Historical Place

India is full of beautiful monuments, old temples and huge forts. But the most famous among all the historical buildings in India is the Taj Mahal. It is a very popular place for tourists, both among Indians and foreigners.

The Taj is situated on the banks of the river Yamuna in the city of Agra. It is made of beautiful white marble and looks almost magical on a full moon night. It was built Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It was built about twenty thousand workers.

I visited the Taj Mahal last year with my parents during the summer vacations. We entered the huge red gateway and saw the beautiful white Taj Mahal some distance away from us. The green, well-kept lawns on both sides of the path leading to the monument also looked very lovely.

There were four spiral minarets on the four corners of the Taj. Beautiful flowers and birds were carved into the white marble. The tombs of Shah Jahan and Mumtaj Mahal were situated in the lower portion.

Many months have passed Since I visited the Taj Mahal, but the beauty of the whole thing is still fresh in my mind. I want to visit it again and again, just as all the visitors to the Taj do.
