Combined Defence Services Examination
The Combined Defence Services Examination (CDSE) is conducted for admission to the following courses and institutions:
- Indian Military Academy, Dehradun for courses commencing in the following January and July, respectively.
- Naval Academy, Goa for courses commencing in the following January and July, respectively.
- Air Force Station, Begumpet, Hyderabad (Pre-flying) for courses commencing in the following January and July, respectively.
- Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai for courses commencing in the following May and October, respectively.
Condition of eligibility:
The basic eligibility criteria are listed below:
(a) Nationality: same as NDA
(b) Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status:
The minimum acceptable age limit as on the date of commencement of the course is: 19 years (for all categories). Other details are:
- For Indian Military Academy – Maximum age: 24 years, unmarried male.
- For Naval Academy – Maximum age: 22 years, 24 years for Naval Wing ‘C’, unmarried male.
- For Air Force Academy – Maximum age: 23 years, unmarried male.
- For Officers’ Training Academy – Maximum age: 25 years, unmarried or unmarried male.
(c) Educational Qualifications:
- For Indian Military Academy – Graduate degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
- For Naval Academy – BE or B.Sc. with Maths and Physics.
- For Air Force Academy – BE or B.Sc. with Physics and / or Maths.
- For Officers’ Training Academy – Graduate degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
- Graduates with Army / Navy / Air Force as their first choice are required to submit provisional certificates as proof of graduation on the date of commencement of the SSB interview at the Services Selection Board (SSB).
- Even if you are yet to pass the graduate degree exam, you can apply, but you will be required to submit proof of passing the exam well before the specified date, failing which your candidature will stand cancelled.
- If you possess professional and technical qualifications which are recognized by the Government as equivalent to professional and technical degrees would also be eligible for taking the exam.
- In exceptional cases, the UPSC may treat a candidate, who does not possess any of the above qualifications, but is otherwise qualified, as eligible for taking the examination.
Scheme of examination:

(b) SSB Interview for intelligence and personality test of such candidates as may be called for the interview at one of the Services Selection Centres

01. ‘अशोक मेहता समिति‘ किससे संबंधित है?

अशोक मेहता समिति का गठन दिसम्बर, 1977 ई. में अशोक मेहता की अध्यक्षता में किया गया था। ‘बलवंत राय मेहता समिति’ की सिफ़ारिशों के आधार पर स्थापित पंचायती राज व्यवस्था में कई कमियाँ उत्पन्न हो गयी थीं, इन कमियों को ही दूर करने तथा सिफ़ारिश करने हेतु ‘अशोक मेहता समिति’ का गठन किया गया था।
- अशोक मेहता समिति में 13 सदस्य थे। समिति ने 1978 में अपनी रिपोर्ट केन्द्र सरकार को सौंप दी, जिसमें पंचायती राज व्यवस्था का एक नया मॉडल प्रस्तुत किया गया था। समिति द्वारा दी गई रिपोर्ट में केवल 132 सिफ़ारिशें की गयी थीं। इसकी प्रमुख सिफ़ारिशें थीं:
- राज्य में विकेन्द्रीकरण का प्रथम स्तर ज़िला हो,
- ज़िला स्तर के नीचे मण्डल पंचायत का गठन किया जाए, जिसमें क़रीब 15000-20000 जनसंख्या एवं 10-15 गाँव शामिल हों,
- ग्राम पंचायत तथा पंचायत समिति को समाप्त कर देना चाहिए,
- मण्डल अध्यक्ष का चुनाव प्रत्यक्ष तथा ज़िला परिषद के अध्यक्ष का चुनाव अप्रत्यक्ष होना चाहिए,
- मण्डल पंचायत तथा परिषद का कार्यकाल 4 वर्ष हो,
- विकास योजनाओं को ज़िला परिषद के द्वारा तैयार किया जाए
- अशोक मेहता समिति की सिफ़ारिशों को अपर्याप्त माना गया और इसे अस्वीकार कर दिया गया।

Genus Formica wood ants spray Methanoic acid on their prey and to defend their nest. The acid has become a naturally occurring element in the atmosphere due to forest emissions.
Methanoic acid is a colourless liquid acid having a pungent odour. The puss moth caterpillar also sprays this acid when attacked by predators. The acid is used as a preservative and an antibacterial agent for livestock feed.

नरगिस मोहम्मदी (Narges Mohammadi)
इस क्रम में वर्ष 2023 के नोबेल पुरस्कार विजेताओं (Nobel Prize 2023 Winners List) की बात करें तो इस साल Katalin Karikó और Drew Weissman को संयुक्त रूप से चिकित्सा (Physiology or Medicine) का नोबेल पुरस्कार दिया जाएगा। इसी प्रकार फिजिक्स का नोबेल पुरस्कार Pierre Agostini, Ferenc Krausz और Anne L’Huillier को संयुक्त रूप से दिया जाएगा।
दूसरी तरफ, केमिस्टी का नोबेल पुरस्कार Moungi G. Bawendi, Louis E. Brus और Alexei I. Ekimo को दिया जाना है। साहित्य या लिट्रेचर का नोबेल प्राइज Jon Fosse को दिया जाएगा। नोबेल शांति पुरस्कार Narges Mohammadi को दिए जाने की घोषणा की गई है। इकोनॉमिक साइंस नोबेल प्राइज Claudia Goldin को दिया जाएगा।
08. भारत का सूर्य के अध्ययन के लिए भेजा गया पहला मिशन कौन-सा है?

संस्कृत और हिंदी में आदित्य का अर्थ सूर्य होता है। ये अंतरिक्ष यान शनिवार दो सितम्बर को श्रीहरिकोटा से भारतीय समयानुसार सुबह 11.50 बजे अंतरिक्ष में रवाना हुआ।
श्रीहरिकोटा देश का प्रमुख उपग्रह प्रक्षेपण केंद्र है और ये चेन्नई से 100 किलोमीटर उत्तर में स्थित है।
भारतीय अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी इसरो ने जो तस्वीरें जारी की थीं उसमें दिख रहा है कि अंतरिक्ष यान को ले जाने वाला रॉकेट लॉन्चपैड पर तैयार खड़ा है।

भारत में 9 और 10 सितंबर, 2023 को 18वें G20 शिखर सम्मेलन का आयोजन किया गया। यह पहला शिखर सम्मेलन था जब भारत ने G20 देशों के शिखर सम्मेलन की मेज़बानी की। इस शिखर सम्मेलन का विषय “वसुधैव कुटुंबकम” था, जिसका अर्थ है “विश्व एक परिवार है“।
